How To Be a Good Creationist

YouTube - How to be a good Creationist - 3

She's pretty, she's sexy, she's witty - and she's funny while also often right.

Actually, she is an Atheist. I am not. But I also think she may have a point here.

Scientology Public Affairs Director Receives International Award

American Chronicle | Scientology Public Affairs Director Receives International Award: "Scientology Public Affairs Director for the Church of Scientology of Catania, Italy, Ms. Itria Leone, was awarded the 2009 Silver Chimera Award for the impact she has made on the community through her work as coordinator of the Church’s social reform programs.

The 8th annual International Silver Chimera Awards ceremony was organized by dell’Arte Etrusca to raise awareness of social issues and recognize those who have distinguished themselves through contribution that improves the quality of life. With the theme, “Peace in the World,” the ceremony was held this year at the Museo Castello Ursino in Catania, in Sicily.

Ms. Leone, a native of Sicily, has been coordinating the social reform activities of the Church of Scientology of Catania since 2005. At a grassroots level, she has been working to educate children and teenagers on the effects of drugs, to help them make educated choices and avoid the tragedy of addiction. She also coordinates a chapter of Youth for Human Rights International, through which young people learn their rights and help educate their friends and community on the basic rights to which every individual is entitled."

Jada Pinkett-Smith : Scientology, a Religion Just Like Other Religions

Jada Pinkett-Smith gets candid | USA WEEKEND Magazine: "Another subject she wants to set straight: persistent rumors that she and her husband are Scientologists, like their good friend Tom Cruise. She emphatically denies it, and she admits she thought it was a weird religion -- until she met Cruise.

'I'm not saying that I'm not a Scientologist because I think something's wrong with Scientology -- I want to be really clear about that,' Jada says. But, she adds, 'In knowing Tom, I realize it is a religion just like other religions. Tom is happy. And he is one of the greatest men I know.'"

Trump Took the Right Decision

The Associated Press: Trump says Miss California USA can retain crown

First I always found the beauty pageant silly and boring. Not only can't you rate beauty, it also is a way to enforce conformity. In other words, I don't like this display of plastic flesh and smiles.

So whether Miss California can keep her crown or not, I don't give a shit.

However, I would be outraged at the thought that she would lose it because she dared express her opinion, even if I completely disagree with it.

So, Donald took the right decision, in my opinion.

I also like the fact that he disregarded her posing semi nude as a teenager - like it would be such an outrageous offense.

Strange that people who want her down because they themselves are supposedly liberal would use such a conservative argument!

You really aren't liberal at all if you deny others their right of free speech, no matter how liberal you claim to be or how fashionable the cause you claim to defend. Such a so-called liberalism is only conformism in disguise.

Thanks, Trump - and you the naysayer - you are fired!

Alleged Nude Rihanna Pics Leaked

Alleged nude Rihanna pics leaked on the Web! | The Dish Rag | Los Angeles Times: "What do you think? Is this really Rihanna? If it is, who do you think took the pics and then sequentially leaked them to the Web?"

Well, yes, I think it's her. Anyway, I like to think it's her.

If she was not a singer she could be a model (isn't she?). I think she is absolutely stunning and beats hand on many professional top models if not all of them.

Halle Berry and Raspberries

Nice move from dazzlingly beautiful Halle Berry delivering a thank-you speech to the Raspberries, but I really have to disagree that her performance in Catwoman deserved a Razzie! (And I don't tag that as off-topic cause they also speak about Battlefield Earth. Travolta should go in there and thank L. Ron Hubbard too!)

Dazzling failures - The National Newspaper:
"The Oscar-winning actress went over to what many in Hollywood would consider the dark side when she turned up in person at the Golden Raspberry Awards in 2005 to accept her Worst Actress award for the film Catwoman."

Michelle Obama Makes Vogue Cover - BBC NEWS

(off-topic)

It is only the second time an American First Lady has taken the place of a model on a Vogue cover - the other was Hillary Clinton in 1998.

BBC NEWS | Americas | Michelle Obama makes Vogue cover: "'We want entertaining in the White House to feel like America, that we are reminded of all the many facets of our culture. The Latino community, the Asian-American community, the African-American community... hip-hop, spoken word - we want to bring the youth in, for them to hear their voices in this,' she said."

Jodhi's No Speak Scientology Policy

AdelaideNow... Jodhi's new pet project

Jodhi Meares, ex-wifes of ex-Scientologist James Parker, will not say whether she has been doing Scientology or not:

The notoriously private bikini babe refused to speak about claims she has spent the past year being audited by the controversial Church Of Scientology.

"I'm sorry, I don't like talking to the papers," she said politely.

Poor thing had her dog die recently. As a friendly dog myself, I can only have empathy for her, especially after see a couple of pictures from this albums: Jodhi Meares struts her stuff | AdelaideNow:

Quick Firefox Jumps Over Lazy IE

(Off topic)

Projection: IE’s Days of Domination Are Numbered - PC World

Firefox is unbeatable for its add-ins. The only reason I can think of IE still dominating is that it comes with Windows and obviously most people in the world are not propeller heads.

Persia White

The Celebrity Scientologist is a good blog. I often discover there people I had no idea they were Scientologists, and people I just did not know about. Such is Persia White, featured today: Celebrity Scientologists: Persia White- Actress, Musician, Activist.

She is most known for her participation in a series called "Girl Friends", which I don't think I ever saw.

I must say she does not come out that good in photos, and I had trouble finding one that I really liked for my blog, but she does come out very good live, such as the KTL5 interview, obviously, or she wouldn't have starred in Girl Friends for more than six years.

Another thing I like about her is her activism, mostly for the environment and animals, and I do like the text of her web page opening:

"I know that many of the conflicts we face today are hard to confront, but I ask that you open your mind and eyes for a moment and allow yourself to be a witness. No matter what you've been taught, I know we can make a difference in the world around us. One simple action can lessen or stop the suffering of another. Every great movement, invention, or philosophy began with ONE person. Often times society can make a person feel small or unimportant, yet there is tremendous strength in every word, every action, every voice. It's time to be heard."

And no, I don't think she speaks of LRH, but just more simply of you and me.

OTOH, something that does come out through various aspects of her is what she surprisingly reveals in that KTL5 interview above: "My music side is more, you know, what's going on inside my head, which isn't always so positive and happy, it's a little bit ... darker".

Why is that surprising? Well, because it does not fit the stereotype of the Scientologist, who always strives to be "upstat" and "uptone". It may really be a stereotype, though, because the same can be said of Beck.

Bijou Philips

An article written under the false assumption that Scientologists are against medication. The article also fails to make a distinction between medical and psychiatric medicines. Nevertheless, a fancy blog with plenty of posh photos.

Plus I never heard of the "Bijou Philips" character, much less knew that she was a Scientologist.

On the photo: the gal on the left, hanging out with the Hilton sisters.

Wait! I did blog about her boyfriend, Scientologist Danny Masterson.

Juliette Lewis Promotes Scientology

Orange is not a complete fruit | Holy Moly | Latest Index | News | News | Orange is not a complete fruit: "Upon finishing filming, Juliette sidled up to the funny American dude, Brennan, as he was getting on his motorbike.

Big luvvie hugs ensued and she pressed a DVD into his palm and swanned off. He drove off presuming it was her new album or something, only to get home and realize it was called 'Welcome to Scientology'.

She did the same for all the cast and crew."

Cruise Still More Bankable than Jolie?

It's interesting to see that in spite of the negative publicity Tom Cruise suffered of late, foxnews still consider him a bigger banking star than Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie:
Cruise is like the King of the Globes, their most desired participant for TV ratings, bigger even than Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie.
As for the story itself, I find it natural that Katie Holmes choose to attend her last Broadway performance rather than accompany Tom at the Globe. Some rags, however, seem to make a big deal of that.

I don't quite agree with foxnews on that one. Even without Cruise in a bad light, I think Angelina Jolie is a bigger public attraction, but then, I am not a teenage girl either.

Top Search Terms for 2008 Include "What is Scientology"

Google has released its year-end list of the most popular terms searched on the Web site.

In the United States, Barack Obama came in at No. 1.

In search queries prefixed by the words "what is..", "What is love" tops the list, while Scientology is sixth.

I doubt the prank pulled out by Anonymous in July to put "Scientology is a cult" on top of the supposed search list had much an effect in this context, since the stats are drawn out of the whole year and, in this category, pre-fixed by "what is..". I blogged about this prank here and here.

PS - Metro.co.uk reports that top of the "how to" questions on Google this year is "how to draw", while web-users have also been typing "how to kiss" into their Google search boxes on a regular basis. The web site then proceeds to offer a titiling video of two girls embarking on a mammoth lesbian snogging session in order to teach watchers how to French kiss.

PS2 - Check also http://www.google.com/intl/en/press/zeitgeist2008/mind.html for a more detailed info about the top searches. I observe among other things that Isaac Hayes is 4th on the Fond Farewells category. Interestingly as well, Miley Cyrus is 5th on the Who Is category. I never heard of her until I learned she was the co-star of the new (doubling voice only) Travolta movie.

Denice Duff and Other Babes

Denice Duff - I have a confession to make. I love the pic of Jenna Miscavige Hill at ESK. I find her a stunning beauty (OK, it's the only pic of her I know, and I have never watched (yet) her videos interviews and stuff, am very busy, you know...). But upon reading that Denice Duff completed Scientology's highest level, I discovered her home page and I must admit being hooked too... So now I have an ex- and an in-, is that fair and balanced or what? (Actually I really ought to add a non- in the equation too so check out my favorite video on youtube (sorry Anon it isn't you), and tell me we aren't living in great times :-)
