Censorship at WhyWeProtest.net?
Now I find something fishy at WhyWeProtest.net too.
Some time ago, a poster there made a post asking if anybody knew about the high ranking ex-member who let a commentary on my blog, and which I blogged about here.
The URL for that post used to be "http://forums.whyweprotest.net/15-media/high-ranking-defector-speaks-out-36057/"
However, if you now click on that URl, you will get to another post.
The original post can still be found with a different URL:
The claim made in the original post, that "It's a repost of Ask the Scientologist: Scientology's Leader, Miscavige, Is a Failure from August 2nd. " is false. These are two different posts, even if the style is similar.
Apparently, the two threads were "merged", whatever this means.
A poster pointed quite rightly :"This is a new story/blog and has nothing to do with the OP of the thread it was merged with. Unmerge plox? "
But the admin disagrees: "Disregard plox. Thread was reported for merging, didn't read it thoroughly but the OPs are similar. Unmerged."
I too found the post of August 2 and mentioned it in my post, but Thoughful, the author of the comment, claimed the post he made as a comment on my blog in December was the first one.
Even if the August 2 post was from him also, why merge the two just because they are similar? Why prevent people from reading the second one and redirect to the first one instead?
It's illogical, and it also is a form of censorship. They are preventing people to read the two posts, that, even though the style is similar, contain different information.
Critics are also notorious for not liking to link to my web site, and this may also be a further form of disguised censorship.
There is no reason to "merge" the two posts just because the style is similar, especially since this is not a merge but simply redirecting the original URL to the other post.
Anonymous should really "unmerge" them.

OT - Who Will Be the First Dog?

Obama closing in on a dog: labradoodle or water hound :: CHICAGO SUN-TIMES :: Lynn SweetNever mind the economy, or Gaza, or Iran. The real news question for President-elect Barack Obama is the answer to the question:
What kind of dog, and when?
Obama revealed Sunday he is closing in on selecting the first dog -- either a labradoodle or a Portuguese water hound.
Whu?
"This has been tougher than finding a commerce secretary," Obama told George Stephanopoulos, host of ABC's "This Week."
LOL!
Apparently, the Labradoodle is a mix of Labrador retriever and poodle! (below)
The Portuguese water dog is a pedigreed pup. "Known for centuries along Portugal's coast," the American Kennel Club notes. (above)
Which one would you choose?
Me I think I'll just opt for the underdog! As usual...
Ledger Links Tom and Jett

Heath Ledger's Family 'Overjoyed' By Golden Globe Win - Movie News Story | MTV Movie News
Heath Ledger won the Golden Globe Award for Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role in a Motion Picture for his work as the joker in "The Dark Knight."
I am overjoyed by this news.
Ledger was up against veteran actors like Tom Cruise, Robert Downey Jr., Ralph Fiennes and Philip Seymour Hoffman, but Heath performace in the Batman motion picture was stunning and, besides, he passed away tragically.
So where is the link?
I already wrote before about the irony of both Jett Travolta and the son of Dr. Dre passing away around the same time, one of a seizure about which much is being talked about in terms of drugs, and the other of an overdose of heroine!
Now what was the cause of death of Heath last January? Of an accidental overdose of prescription medication!
So there's a distant link there between Cruise, contender to Heath for the Globe, and Jett...
It also brings up in the news, again! that drug theme...
This should remind us that the number of death and disabilities related to prescribed medicines went from 35,000 in 1998 to 90,000 in 2005, according to the Archives of Internal Medicine, and that 50,000 Americans die every year of seizures,
So much for critics trying to split hair in trying to force-fit a cause celebre death by seizure into the evil tentacle of Scientology and its supposed absence of drugs treatment.

Tory Christman Affidavit 2003
Reference: http://groups.google.com/group/alt.religion.scientology/msg/30548f0984804086
1. I , Tory Christman, declare as follows: my name is Tory Christman, formerly Tory Bezazian.
2. I am over 18 years of age.
3. I am writing this of my own free will. The statements herein are of my own personal knowledge and if called up as a witness, I can testify competently thereto.
4. I got into Scientology in 1969 and left in July of 2000. I went there a young woman, hoping to handle things that bothered me, and learn how to help others. Shortly after getting into Scientology I was recruited to join what is known as The Sea Organization. I was asked to sign a billion year contract, agreeing I would do whatever was needed to help Ron Hubbard and The Sea Org (from here on known as the S.O) Clear the Planet.
5. I was routed to the Bolivar (which was an old tanker ship) located out in LA harbor, where we were supposed to do ship's training. This lasted a few weeks, and then we were brought back on land. While in the SO, one is given a place to sleep and food to eat. Since I had quit college to get into Scientology, writing my father I had finally found what I wanted to do in life, I felt I had found my new career.
6. A few months after joining the Sea Organization I realized I needed to re-order the medication I was on for Epilepsy. I was routed to a person they called the Medical Liaison Officer, or the MLO. This was a young man I was told was studying nutrition. He had no actual medical training that I knew of. He informed me that I needed to get off of my medication, and that he would write out a program to get off of it. In Scientology if you have ANY illness it is considered there is something wrong with you, not just physically, but that this is a very bad thing, caused by you being connected to someone who is suppressive to you. At least that was the beginning pitch I heard.
(my comments follow in red. Highlighting in bold above is mine)
So an unqualified staff informed her that she needed to get off of her medication.
7. Being young and totally believing these people, I was ordered onto a "leave of absence" to get off of my medication. I found a place to live, and began my program. It consisted of cutting down one table by ¼th. I never succeeded farther than that. I began having Grand Mal Seizures at home in the morning, out on the street by myself, and in the Scientology organizations. This was living Hell for me.
8. This went on for I think 3 months. I was losing my memory due to all of the seizures. I would wake up in the morning and try to dash into the refrigerator. Daily I would have a petit mal (small seizure), and come to with all of the vitamins spread out all over the kitchen floor. The lady I was renting a room from had two children. Constantly they would come in and find me on the floor, and yell "Mommy, Tory dropped her vitamins again". This woman was one of the kindest people to me, and I will never forget her. Her name is Mary Jessup, and she was married previously to Nate Jessup. All during this time the Scientologists were very evaluative to me, and many treated me like a leper, but not Mary. She was always very compassionate. She had left Scientology some time earlier.
9. Finally one morning in the shower I knocked my front teeth out during a Grand Mal seizure. All during this time my mother was begging me to go back on all of my medication. Being new in Scientology, I assured her Dianetics and Scientology would handle this. Finally, after so many seizures and so much trauma, I realized no matter what these people thought, I wasn't going to live if I kept doing this. At that point I decided to go back on my medication in full, no matter what.
Point 7-9 above is what she speaks about in her video and to journalists. She now tries to present this as a typical experience in Scientology, omitting all what follows and which is vital to understand whether Scientology allows people to be medicated for their seizures or not.
10. I went over to the MLO and told him my decision. Now remember I really had my heart set on being a Sea Org member. This was what I wanted to do with my life. He assured me in no uncertain terms that now I was not fit for the Sea Org, if I needed to take this medication. He routed me to Ethics who informed me I was now considered a Freeloader, and they gave me a bill in the thousands for leaving.
11. After much arguing, I finally told them I wanted a pen and paper as I was writing Hubbard. He wrote me back and informed me I was not a Freeloader and that was incorrect. I needed to pay for the 2 courses I had then taken and "continue getting auditing in the HGC and we will see you up the line". It was because of this that I so rigorously tried for another 26 years to handle or get rid of Epilepsy. Of course never did!
Tory Christman now just completely blank out this part from her video and statements she makes to the press. That's where the lying lies. Yet, it is very significant. L.Ron Hubbard himself canceled the order and asked her to continue on the bridge in spite of her medication!
How can Tory now make video and talk to the press accusing Scientology of preventing people to get their medication when the founder himself proved right there the contrary?
12. Once out of the Sea Org, I decided I needed to get trained to figure out why these people were so weird and insisting I needed to do something so stupid. I figured if I was trained I could then understand. I trained up to Grad 4 auditor, interned at Celebrity Center in LA. It was during this time that I met my husband, and in 1974 we were married.
She trained up to Grad 4 auditor, while still being allowed to be on medication.
13. I joined staff at Celebrity Center as an auditor. I loved auditing, and this was probably my happiest time in Scientology. I felt I was finally doing what I had come into Scientology for: helping other people. But typical of Scientology, they are always changing things. I was what was called a non-sea org staff member.
She was allowed to join staff at Celebrity Center as an auditor, while still being allowed to take her medication.
14. After about 6 months someone cancelled all NSO (non-sea org) contracts, and once again I was let go. As bad as this was, AOLA was hiring NSO staff, so I went over there. I audited there until I was about 8 months pregnant, at which point I left staff to have our son.
She was allowed to be an auditor at AOLA, all the while being on her medication.
15. I attest to what at that time had come out as "natural Clear". Now Clear is supposedly where you have perfect memory, no somatics, and etc. From all the seizures I now had a horrible memory, and of course still had Epilepsy, but somehow it was indicated I was natural Clear, and I attested. This later came to haunt me, as I never really felt like I had achieved the state of Clear. Later, after I left, I found out this is common amongst many people who had attested to Clear. There really are not any Clears, per the definition. But Scientologists get around this with ... that was only on your FIRST dynamic (related to self). DUH~ errrrr, are there pains I have that aren't connected to me??? Well, Hubbard covered that too.
She was allowed to attest as "natural Clear", while still being on medication.
16. OK... I did up through OT 3 and I will say I had huge wins on this level. I will explain how this worked FOR ME. I think it is very different for each person, but this is how it worked for me. In my teens as I have posted, I was looking for truth. While looking, one day I started having "Petit Mals" (or tiny seizures), and later a Grand Mal Seizure. Now doctors to this day don't really know what causes seizures, and certainly not me. However, I did know for me a Grand Mal seizure felt like I had died. When I would return, I would have absolutely no memory of anything, and I had often wondered if I had sort of died, and then returned. Now I am reading the OT 3 info, and Hubbard mentioned while getting close to these incidents, HE NEARLY DIED!!!
She did up through OT3, while still being on medication.
17. To the average person this may seem like a huge leap, but in Scientology you are sort of taught or brought along early on to make these leaps. So with that in mind, suddenly I realized why I had this horrible thing called Epilepsy! It wasn't just some physical condition as the doctors had tried to tell me early on. It was due to theses things called Body Thetans or Clusters (groups of Body Thetans or 'BT's who were stuck to me). This was an amazing revelation for me and excited me greatly. If you have ever seen a Grand Mal Seizure you are familiar with their overwhelming power and uncontrollability. The force was amazing to me and I used to wonder all the time, what could POSSILBY have caused all of this? Suddenly I had what I thought was the true answer! Before I continue, Please let me say that this was one of the worst things for me in Scientology. People were ALWAYS asking me if I had gotten rid of Epilepsy? It was horrible, as it is assumed it is not physical, or even if it is, Hubbard says all physical problems are caused by the spirit... thus assuming one SHOULD be able to "fix" it. Finally, at last I had found out why. So even though OT 3 is completely weird and a space opera story... I was so ready for ANYTHING, that this filled the bill. If it nearly killed Hubbard, the master of all everything, why not give me Epilepsy? See?
18. Actually on OT 3 I had great wins, or successes. Each session I felt like I was getting rid of the cause of this thing that had stopped me from doing my life's work (Clearing the planet in the Sea Org). Also, I was now finally going OT I thought. OT is a state where you are supposed to be Cause over Matter, Energy, Space and Time. That is what the original definition stated. So if I were to achieve OT, I would be done with Seizures, one would think.
19. After attesting to OT 3, I once again tried to get off of my medication, only to end up in a hospital with status epileptis, or many seizures. I finally went back on all medication, and have stayed on it, and have never had a seizure since.
Tory, of her own will and volition, without anybody telling her to do so, get off of her medication again! She now writes "I nearly died twice", trying to make it look bad on the CoS, when in this case the CoS can't be blamed for it at all!
A 15 year old boy (!!!) told her that she was not allowed on the Flag Land Base.
This is literally what Tory wrote in 2003! And what is Tory saying now to the press? Check it out here and here And also listen to her video. Here are some examples of what she is saying now:
Note that this last bit is true, but is only part of the full story. By taking part of the story and presenting it as the whole story, Tory fully illustrates what Anonymous described as her "deceitful and manipulative ways" and for which they virtually "expelled" her from their mist.
The reasons they brought about are remarkably similar to what she is doing now:
I attest that the above is true.

Magoo's False Justification
"I was "in" C of $ for 30 years....and fought the entire "Church" re medication. Yes, I made an affidavit saying I FINALLY won, and the entire "Flag Land Base" was corrected on their confusions re medication. However, it was a 30 year battle, and twice I nearly died.
I don't care what Hubbard says here---he's basically putting down Dr's and always did.
It's ASSumed one *should* be able to "Handle" (Fix) any physical condition, either with auditing, or "Ethics". Ya...right.
Tommy Davis: KMA~
TLCThe above is in reply to the Scios asking me over and over if I listened to Hubbard. Yes, I did. He wrote me and said, "Continue in the HGC (getting auditing) and we'll see you up the line once Epilepsy is fixed" (After I was thrown out of their Sea Org, for being on medication). You KNOW from Dianetics up to OT 7---he speaks of "The tech" and how with it, one SHOULD be able to "Fix" any condition. You deny it? SAY IT HERE.
Tory/Magoo
Now let's see what she writes more closely:
"I was "in" C of $ for 30 years....and fought the entire "Church" re medication. In 1972 she sent a letter to Hubbard questioning the action of an unqualified staff to force her off her medication and sent her off staff with a huge freeloader bill. Hubbard canceled the expulsion order and told her to get back online!
In 1989 she claims that she appealed the decision of a 15 years old boy to prevent her from doing her OT4 on Flag Land Base. The Senior C/S International allowed her to be audited and to take her medications. Not only that, but a policy was written and the entire Flag Land Base was sent to cramming for their errors in saying she could not be on medications.
What better proof is there that the CoS is NOT against people getting the necessary medication to deal with their seizures?
However, is she saying any of this to the press currently? Read her lies here, here, and here. She is not saying any of this. She is focusing on a small part of the whole story and gives the impression that the CoS is systematically preventing people to take their medications.
"Yes, I made an affidavit saying I FINALLY won, and the entire "Flag Land Base" was corrected on their confusions re medication."The Flag Land Base was corrected (if we assume all this to be correct) in 1989. Between 1972 and 1989, for a period of nearly twenty years, she was allowed to be online and on staff, going all the way up to OT3, all the while still being on her medication in full view of everybody!
So it is false for her to claim that she "finally" won, as if the 20 years before and 10 years after just did not exist.
Besides, if true that the Flag Land Base was corrected, where is her testimony that now Scientology has been supposedly corrected on that? Why is she giving a totally different picture to the press, claiming that the CoS engages in preventing people from taking their medication?
"However, it was a 30 year battle, and twice I nearly died. "The second time she "nearly died" was due to a decision that she and she alone took in 1979, with no prodding from any staff nor official from the CoS. She wanted to see if after OT3 she could do away with the medication. Claiming that "twice I nearly died" without mentioning this tiny detail is again trying to blame the CoS for something they had no part into whatsoever.
Now lets take a look at the entire paragraph:
"I was "in" C of $ for 30 years....and fought the entire "Church" re medication. Yes, I made an affidavit saying I FINALLY won, and the entire "Flag Land Base" was corrected on their confusions re medication. However, it was a 30 year battle, and twice I nearly died."See? She gives the impression that she "Finally won" after she "fought the entire Church" in a "30 year battle" in which she "twice nearly died", and that during all this time she was not allowed to take her medication. She gives the impression that she was only allowed to take again her medication after 30 years. This of course is not true thruth. Not the truth at all!
It just is another lie, that adds up to the ones she is giving to the press presently, that now adds up to her censorship as she does not want people she is deceiving with her video to be disturbed by the facts.
Sad...

Magoo Censorship
Tory Christman claims that she was ordered off her seizure medication by the CoS but she forgets to say that such illegal orders were promptly overturned by higher CoS authorities, and that for the 30 years she was in Scientology she was allowed to take her anti-seizure medicine, as confirmed by her 2003 affidavit. The message was deleted! So it was reposted, with request for Magoo that she comments the allegation. Her "answer" was to delete all such messages and ban the user!
Tory Christman affidavit is the best proof there is that Scientology is not against seizure medicines where needed.

I'm not a Scientologist but came upon her video, thinking it was one of genuine sympathy.but, instead, found a lecture to John Travolta.
She wrote to me saying that if I'd lost hundreds of friends then I would understand to which I replied on her comment page, that I'd lost enough loved ones to allow me to have empathy with a bereaved father, a quality her video lacks. In fact, thr video comes across as self-serving and pious, a lecture wrapped in the giuse of a sympathy message.. i asked how she expected John Travolta, a grief-stricken parent, to listen to her message, when even I find its timing sickening.
That message was deleted and I can only assume that all future posts were blocked. So much for free speech!

Box Office Predictions for Valkyrie
So where do we go from now?
Erik Lomis, who oversees worldwide film distribution for MGM have said that "As the long holiday plays out, high-profile movies can expect to collect total domestic tickets sales of four to six times their first three-day weekend".
Valkyrie's box office result for the first three days was $21.5 million. Say five times 20 is $100 on domestic market alone. with $70 so far, and keeping up to speed in the tail of Marley, the film is slowly reaching that target.
Now this is telling nothing of the International market, where Cruise star power is way more considerable than in the US. To wit, even the "flop", "Lions for Lambs" achieved a stunning $50 on the foreign market, compared to only $15 on the domestic market. With a budget of only $35, that should leave Cruise enough to build a few more bunkers on that "flop" alone.
However, it is very unusual for a film to make three times the cash it does at home. More typically, it would be 2 to 2.5 times.
With this in mind, I think the film should relatively easily reach $200-$250 world-wide, not counting the benefit made through DVD and other sideline outlets. It wouldn't surprise me, though, if it would reach eventually $300 to $350, which would be stupendous.
By all means, even just $200 or somewhat less would be completely unexpected as a result for what was a very risky film from many point of view, and would be cause for celebration on the Cruise camp.
Tory Christman Has Gone Completely Nuts
"THOUSANDS of members of the Church of Scientology may be suffering from untreated mental and neurological conditions, according to a former follower who taught John Travolta, the Hollywood star."Magoo's documented lie is now spreading to "thousands of members who may be suffering form untreated mental and neurological conditions". Where will it end?
"Sufferers are told to cure themselves with vitamins and saunas while it is denied that they have problems such as epilepsy or autism, said Tory Christman, now a fierce critic of the church. "Tory was allowed to take her anti-seizure medicine for the 30 years she was online and on staff at the CoS, but that does not seem to disturb her in the least to claim that sufferers are told to cure themselves with vitamins while denied that they have problems such as epilepsy...
I am worried for Tory. I think she lost all sense of proportion and truth. Does it not disturb her even a little bit that such gross lies will come and bite her in the face once people find the truth about it?
"Christman left after suffering epileptic fits, culminating in a seizure which caused her to fall in the bath, knocking out her front teeth."Untrue. She stayed another 30 years after this episode. Tory was told by an unqualified staff to stop her medication in 1972, according to her own affidavit. After L. Ron Hubbard himself partly reversed the decision, she spent another freaking 30 years online and on staff at the Church of Scientology. She certainly did not leave after suffering epileptic fits unless you want to completely blank out 30 years of active involvement in the CoS, going all the way up to OT7 while still allowed to take her medication...
It seems that Tory did indeed black out these 30 years... Incredible...
"Fellow Scientolo-gists refused to accept that she had a “real” illness, insisting that she work harder studying the teachings of the church’s founder, L Ron Hubbard, the science fiction writer, she said. "That may or may not have been the case for the unqualified staff who may have told her that in 1972, but what she forgets to say is that this decision was reversed. What she forget to say is that another similar decision taken in 1989 by a 15 years old boy (!!!) was also reversed by the proper CoS authorities and the boy and his friends were sent to cramming.
I think that Mark Bunker, Tory's friend, should tell her to stop making this kind of allegations to the press, or better still, bring her to a psychiatrist urgently. This is forever going to follow Tory Christman, alias Magoo, and is going to discredit whatever else she said. She has gone completely nuts.

Second Counter-Jett Missile Destroyed
The second such missile now is:
Leaked Recording of Scientology Founder Proves That Church Lied
Unfortunately for critics, it did not hit its target, because it was destroyed by a counter-counter missile as a correction published by the same news outlet. Again, it is worth to be quoted in full:
Response to False Allegations About Scientology
Published: January 10,2009
Letter to the Editor
Response to False Allegations About Scientology
You published a letter to the editor on entitled "Leaked Recording of Scientology Founder Proves That Church Lied".
In fact, the article never went down to quote where exactly it proves such. The author of this article makes all kinds of claims based on a lecture given by Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard, but fails to provide the exact quotes that supposedly disproves the Church of Scientology assertions. It only provides a general reference that in fact does not really say anything one way or the other. It didn't say "you must tell him to come off drugs", it said, "And then you come along as an auditor and you try to audit the pc and you tell the pc that he'll have to go off that drug". That's a comment about what another person might do, not a directive of what action to take.
The best proof that Scientology does not forbid the use of drugs for the treatment of seizure is the affidavit of Tory Christman that can easily be found by googling - "Tory Christman" affidavit 2003. Though this affidavit was initially made for accusing Scientology of putting people off from their medication, it ends up proving the exact contrary. Christman spent 30 years online and on staff, doing almost the complete Scientology "Bridge", while taking her anti-seizure medicine in full view and knowledge of all. Requests by unqualified staff that she stops taking them have been systematically over-ruled by proper Church of Scientology authorities, and by L. Ron Hubbard himself!
Scientology does not oppose the use of drugs like Depakote for medical reasons. It only opposes it when used to treat mental conditions. The author of this article simply fails to make appropriate distinctions between medical and mental conditions, as well as when the same drug is used for the treatment of physical symptoms and when it is used to treat mental conditions.
As for the claim that "Hubbard referred to epilepsy related terms as "gobbledygook", all L. Ron Hubbard says is that much of the medical jargon in general is incomprehensible for the lay man: "Now I've been using a lot of medical words here or chemical words really. Just don't pay any attention to them because they're mostly gobbledygook, and there's an awful lot of gobbledygook words." It does not in the least, as is hinted, means any disrespect towards people suffering of epilepsy.
The article assertions about autism are just as absurd.
Joey Travolta is not qualified to make a snap diagnosis of autism, nor can such a diagnosis be made through viewing a few minutes of a video footage. The process for diagnosing autism is complex and generally requires not just one professional, but often multiple professionals. No competent medical professional would just look at someone and make a snap diagnosis!
It is also false to claim that autism is not accepted by the Church of Scientology. The article does not provide evidence for such a claim whatsoever. Scientology may not agree with psychiatric treatment of mental illnesses but has not made any comment about autism, which, by the way, is not considered as mental illness by the medical profession themselves.
Nor does the article offer anything in evidence to its innuendos that a two years old was subjected to a dangerous level of niacin. It only indulge in unwarranted speculations to that effect, speculations that almost certainly are false knowing the obvious love the Travolta's displayed for their children..
Given what critics demonstrated by jumping in the middle of mourning comments with rumors (later on proven false) and heartless accusations towards the Travolta family, they are not very credible when they claim, as they do in this article, that the circumstance of Jett Travolta's tragic death should only be discussed with the utmost respect of the family.
This article only attempts to cover with a layer of apparent researches, pseudo-science, and a lot of obfuscations, the same kind of hatred and prejudice they engaged at the time, but even a superficial examination is enough to blow such a layer away.
