William Burroughs support for Scientology needed some balance and logical end, and this is such a good little story. It is like Burroughs doing a one many "anonymous" raid against Scientology in London.
I was a staffer for Scientology from 1975 till 2003, lifetime category called the Sea Org, and I so wished to find some credible support from intellectuals for Scientology.
Burroughs initial praise for Scientology soured and then went kooky, his own brand.
But Scientology which sells "body thetan" removal, on Scientology's confidential "OT Levels" numbering 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7, those levels 3-7 all deal with "dead soul" removal, or "body thetan" removal, sadly, when one gets past the no longer confidential writings of Hubbard.
Hubbard's Scientology is a science fictionesque spiritualism, where the voices madmen hear, to Hubbard, those thoughts and voices are the mutterings of that person's load of "body thetans" who are simply disembodied souls infesting a person, infesting all of us, unbeknownst to us all.
Burroughts didn't even get to the "OT levels", he got out before the OT levels.
Had he gotten to the OT levels, I think he would have had some really interesting critical thoughts then.
Hubbard's Scientology when you get to the top of line in the Hubbard "Bridge to Total Freedom" is a flash gordan spiritualism.
We learn we're infested with god-zillions of "body thetans" and we have to use the Hubbard spiritual therapy to strip all these "body thetans" off of us!
Xenu is the ancient space leader who 75 million years ago committed the massive genocide holocaust here on earth, you are supposed to believe and this isn't taken as a joke at all by Scientologists, and that caused the surplus of bodiless souls (the god zillions of "body thetans") that still today supposedly roam eath and attach to all of u. It is THESE chattering "body thetans" that are whispering all the odd thoughts and impulses into mankinds mental ears, causing all of humankinds' troubles.
Per Hubbard, the target is release all these "body thetans" from our bodies and thus these body thetans' ill effects will NOT cause ourselves and thus our world any further harm.
Scientology's plateau number 1, is clear. One clears one's own personal remembered traumas, going into past lives as far as one manages.
Scientology's plateau number 2, is "body thetan" full disinfection, so all the troubling thoughts and impulses from our loads of "body thetans" is removed.
Then, per Hubbard, Scientologists are able to start the next plateau to becoming a full "operating" soul, able to do the spectacular ESP stuff, like fly freely out of your skull, like the pure unharnessed soul that we really are!
Okay? That's Scientology.

I wonder if this is correct. These BTs were supposedly bundled together by massive volcanoes explosions and other super cool freezing. Once they supposedly are free from their trauma and fly away from their host, do they attach themselves to another person? Wouldn't you need the volcanoes and freezing to achieve that? And if they are suppoesdly free, why would they attach to another person?
